Open Gates Pollinator Garden Tour

July 14, 2018Pollinator Garden
This year's event is themed Pollinator Gardens.
Our self-guided tour features ten lovely gardens that welcome pollinators by providing them with food, water and shelter; and gardening practices that exclude harmful pesticides and herbicides.
Several of the gardens received special recognition in the 2017 Richmond Hill Blooms event, and one garden was recently featured in a Canadian Wildlife Federation webinar about designing pollinator-friendly gardens. This garden will showcase the rearing of monarch butterflies from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to adult. It is possible that adult monarchs may be available for release on the afternoon of the tour.
The tour will run from 10 am to 4 pm.
Tickets are $10 each and are available prior to the event as follows:
  • Covernotes Coffee & Tea House, 10268 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill
  • Our Society's July 3rd General Meeting, McConaghy Centre, Richmond Hill
  • Online (click here)
On the day of the tour, tickets will be available for sale from 10 am to 1 pm at one of the gardens - 14 Westpoint Court, near Bayview and 16th.
