General meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in a hybrid manner (in-person and virtual). Society members and the public are welcome to join us:
The doors to the auditorium of the McConaghy Centre open at 7:00 pm, providing time for socialization prior to the business portion of the meeting, which begins at 7:30 pm.
Attendance is free to members and $5 to non-members.
Advance registration through our online Events Calendar is encouraged, irrespective of which attendance method is selected. Online registration also ensures participation in door prize draws.
In addition to obtaining updates on our society's many activities, most meetings include a presentation by a knowledgeable guest speaker. In 2024, we anticipate most of our guest speakers will attend general meetings in-person. However, if this is not feasible due to inclement weather or distance, their participation via Zoom will be projected onto a large screen in the auditorium.
As well, flower show competitions are held at most general meetings from May through October.
There is also opportunity to socialize with other local gardeners, enjoy light refreshments, and browse treasures at the Bring-and-Buy table. Please bring a reusable mug or cup if you would like to be served a hot beverage, as tea and coffee are generally available.
