Richmond Hill Blooms, also known as Front Garden Recognition, is a program designed to beautify Richmond Hill by encouraging residents to create attractive, colourful and well-maintained front gardens. Gardens are nominated by neighbours, friends, relations or even by yourself. Front gardens within the community are eligible for nomination. Every nominated garden will receive a participation sign provided by the City.
New for 2023 - the judging portion of the program is being dropped. Instead, the program will focus on encouraging a higher level of participation across the City.
The 2023 nomination period runs from Friday, June 2nd to Friday, July 7th. The online nomination form will be available on the City's website (click here), beginning June 2nd.
When will signs be delivered?
Signs are anticipated to be delivered starting in late July.
What else is included in the 2023 program?
The City and our society are collaborating on a number of free gardening presentations in 2023. Registration for May and June webinars is through the City's site (click here). As well, our society's July and August general meetings with guest presentations may be attended by the public for free as part of the 2023 Richmond Hill Blooms program.
As well, the City will be hosting an end-of-year interactive workshop and social in late summer/early autumn. More information will be available closer to then.
