Richmond Hill Blooms, also known as Front Garden Recognition, is a program designed to beautify Richmond Hill by encouraging residents to create attractive, colourful and well-maintained front gardens. Gardens are nominated by neighbours, friends, relations or even by yourself. Front gardens within the community are eligible for nomination. Every nominated garden will receive a participation sign provided by the City.
In 2023 the judging portion of the program was dropped. Instead, the program focused on encouraging a higher level of participation across the City. This will continue in 2024.
How can my garden be nominated?
The 2024 nomination period runs from May 31 to July 5, 2024 and the online nomination form is accessible on the City's website (click here).
When will signs be delivered?
Signs are anticipated to be delivered starting in late July.
What else is included in the 2024 program?
The City and our society are collaborating on a number of free gardening presentations in 2024. The first, "Seed Starting 101," is on March 21 and an in-person kick-off workshop and plant sale is on May 15. As well, a Summer's End Garden Social is planned for September 7.
