The Richmond Hill Garden & Horticultural Society strives to encourage students who live and attend schools in Richmond Hill to pursue careers in horticulture, environmental studies and related fields.
The Willem Schurman Scholarship, named after one of our society's Past Presidents, is made available each year to a student graduating from any Richmond Hill secondary school. Applicants should have solid academic backgrounds combined with summer, part time, or volunteer experience in gardening or environmental services capacities. The winning applicant is awarded a $500 Scholarship.
Applications for 2025 are available here, as well as through the Guidance Offices of all Richmond Hill High Schools. Applicants should apply by August 31st.
