Our society delegates to the 2017 Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) Convention that took place in Richmond Hill from July 21 to 23 brought home several awards this year. Details will be available in upcoming issues of the OHA’s Trillium and our society’s Garden Post.
Three of our society publications won awards as follows:
- Yearbook cover - First place (yearbook cover with primarily computer-generated graphics)
- Yearbook – First place (letter-size yearbook folded into booklet style)
- Newsletter – First place (newsletter with primarily computer-generated cover graphics)
- Show Schedule – Second place
As well, one of our society members brought home awards in the following arts competitions:
- First place for “Early Harvest” traditional corn husk doll
- First place for “Rouge River” mosaic, incorporating seeds in a frame
- Second place for “City Scape or Country Scape” hand stitchery
- Second place for “Group of Seven” fabric art inspired by the Group of Seven
As the OHA is made up of 270 societies and more than 30,000 members, it is an achievement for us to bring home awards again this year.
