Guest Speaker: Dennis ZhuTopic: Carnivorous Plants Plants that trap and consume insects and other small creatures are fascinating, and our speaker this evening is an enthusiast who will introduce us to the biodiversity, physiology and cultivation of this peculiar plant group. Dennis Zhu is an 18 year old Grade 12 student at Richmond Hill High School, and a member of the after school Garden Club. He is passionate about the science of plants, and maintains an extensive collection of carnivorous plants at home, some of which he will bring to our meeting. Dennis has gained considerable knowledge about an intriguing plant type with which most of us are unfamiliar, and he may also be the youngest speaker our society has had in its 103 years!
Some of Dennis's carnivorous plants will be available for sale this evening.
