Guest Speaker: Jim Lounsbery
Topic: The Art of Pruning
Late spring is a great time for a refresher on seasonal pruning techniques, including identification of plants that benefit from pruning now, reasons for pruning, and selection of the right tools for a variety of pruning jobs.
Our speaker, certified arborist Jim Lounsbery, is a trusted educator on this topic, and some of you may have been fortunate enough to participate in his popular hands-on workshops at the Toronto Botanical Garden. Jim has also lectured on a variety of other horticultural topics throughout Ontario and the U.S., and is currently an instructor of Horticultural Landscape and Design at Mohawk College in Hamilton. For more than thirty years, he and his wife, Simone, have operated Vineland Nurseries (www.VinelandNurseries.com), specializing in dwarf and unusual evergreens, Japanese Maples, Rhododendrons and other rare and unusual plants.
