The Richmond Hill Garden & Horticultural Society is hosting four webinars in the Growing Vegetables series, all led by Master Gardeners who are also vegetable-gardening enthusiasts.

The Module 3 presentation explains the principles of Square Foot gardening which is the combination of French Intensive (1890’s) and organic gardening. It utilizes all the basic principles of vegetable gardening but optimizes space and work effort. The key benefits are reduced maintenance, succession planting, companion planting and crop rotation. This past spring the speaker extended her gardening period by 1-2 months and this year expects to improve upon last year’s effort.
