Third stop on our virtual cross-country tour of botanical gardens 

 Open to the public since May 26, 2012, Whistling Gardens is home to more than 4,000 plants, situated on 20 acres in Wilsonville, Ontario. Features include a nearly 1 acre Rock/Alpine garden, formal replicas of majestic gardens such as those at the Palace of Versailles, numerous water features, a stone fountain amphitheater, and North America’s largest public peony and conifer collections! A popular destination site for weddings and plant collectors, Whistling Gardens (www.WhistlingGardens.ca) will also be featured in a ten-part 2022 documentary series on “Healing Gardens” (click here for more info).

A graduate of Sir Sandford Fleming College, Darren Heimbecker is the owner, horticultural visionary and driving force behind Whistling Gardens.

Members: Instructions for participation in this virtual event will be emailed to members twice - once on the Friday prior to the meeting, and again on Monday. Instructions are also available by logging into our site and checking the "members-only" version of this event.

Visitors: Guests are welcome to participate in this virtual event, part of a series on Canadian Botanical Gardens, at no charge. Instructions for participation will be emailed to non-society members who complete the registration process prior to the event start time - click on the "Register" button to begin.

All general meetings begin with a welcome and general announcements, which precede introduction of the guest speaker. 

In addition to being provided in a virtual manner, this meeting may also simultaneously be held at the McConaghy Centre. If so, this Event record will be updated with information required for in-person attendance, such as Covid-protection measures required for entry to the facility (i.e., mandatory wearing of face mask, proof of fully-vaccinated status).
